Comm Error

Comm Error/Communication Error

Comm Error

This error occurs when trying to connect a Semi-Integrated terminal (SP30s, S300 etc.) to a POS or after processing a transaction.
The POS can be the merchants' computer system or a PAX S80
The error will appear on the PAX terminal and it means the 2 devices are not communicating with each other.

If your terminal says "Processing" then returns a Comm Error:
  1. Contact the processor/host to determine if they have received the transaction and if there are any issues with the transactions
If they are connected via LAN:
  1. Make sure the IP address in POS matches the IP Address in the S300 or SP30s
  2. Make sure the "Comm Type" for the terminal is set to Ethernet

If they are connected via PINPAD Cable:
  1. Make sure the Comm Type in the Terminal is set to Comm1
  2. If the POS is an S80 make sure the Communication Type is set to PINPAD Port
