DHCP & Static IP

- DHCP has a rotating IP 
- Static IP sets an IP address that will not change 

Internet routing can be dynamic or static IP. If the customer is using a Static IP address, they need to disable DHCP in a file on the communications tab. Capture all of the IP addresses needed for the Static IP connection. 
  1. Local IP
  2. Subnet Mask
  3. Gateway IP
  4. DNS IP


This can also be set from a traditional terminal by pressing Menu > Communication > LAN Parameters > LAN Type > Select DHCP or Static
Then enter in the remaining IP information listed in the terminal.
  1. Local IP
  2. Subnet Mask
  3. Gateway IP
  4. DNS IP
For Android devices:
      a. Open the Android settings application 
      b. Select your desired network and select Advanced options
      c. Change the IP settings to Static
      d. Fill out the proper information then select connect
