Injection Keys/Encryption

If you are experiencing issues with your terminal’s encryption:

 

Resellers/ISO/ISV: If you do not have the ability to provide terminals with Key Injections you must reach out to the Distributor.



·         The PIN Debit key is always injected on the "first" key index, regardless if it starts at "0" or "1". 

  • The Data Key is always injected on the "second" index. 
  • You can check PED Key Status on your Paxstore file under Terminal Details
  • TDES/DUKPT if you can see that on PED Key Status it means your device is encrypted
  • Slot 001, PIN Encryption meaning for PIN debit and EBT
  • Slot 002, Data Encryption meaning for PIN Debit, EBT and Transaction with P2PE

 

 If you don't see TDES/DUKPT it means your device is not encrypted for the payment host.

 


You can also check the encryption status on the terminal level for Android devices
      - Open the app named PaxInject
      - Select US Injection
      - Password: 729465328
      - Select Status
      - Each section will show the slot if it is injected and "Not injected" if it is not
