Invalid Track Error

  1. The error message listed above means that the information on the Magnetic Stripe cannot be read by the terminal.

    • The Mag Reader could be dirty, or the card is dirty. You can clean the Mag reader by taking a paper towel and running it though the mag reader. Do not bunch up the paper towel ands do not use any chemicals.
    • Have the customer try a different card as the card can be run down from use as well

     

    You can also run a “Module Check” on traditional terminals to make sure there is not an issue with the magnetic reader itself

    -          Power cycle the terminal

    -          Hold Func on startup and release when you see self-test on the screen

    -          Press Menu

    -          Go down to and select Module Check

    -          Choose Mag Reader

    -          Terminal will start a count down with “PLS Swipe Card!” on the screen

    -          Start swiping cards and make sure no errors some through
