Reboots every 24 hours (Security Checks) Traditional & Android Terminals

The 24-hour reboot is a PCI requirement and cannot be disabled.  All Traditional terminals reboot 24 hours from when they are powered on.  If you would like to change the time they reboot, simply unplug the terminal and then plug it back in at the time you want the terminal to do the reboot.


The following are the procedures for setting up Security Reboots on Traditional Terminals:

Steps on the terminal level

• Back Menu > Scroll down until you see Set Reboot Time (Latest "MON" version)

Steps on the Paxstore File

• Misc tab > Terminal Settings > Auto Reboot (Enabled) > Auto Reboot Time (hhmm)

 

Android Devices that have been updated to the versions which has a new feature and that is Optimize the feature of reboot in 24 hours. The terminal is supposed to reboot every 24 hours for new PCI security requirements. Since this feature can not be disabled, you can set a scheduled time reboot before or after business hours.

 

Steps on the terminal level

• Android Settings > Password is (9876 or pax9876@@) Security & Location > Scheduled Time Reboot > On > Set reboot time (00:00:00)

Steps on the Paxstore File

• Terminal Management > Terminal List > Search by SN > Click the Merchant Business Name > Profile > From Inherit Change to Override > Terminal Daily Reboot > On > Click the Select Installation Time > Set reboot time (00:00:00)
