Setting Up a Static IP

Setting Up Static IP Addresses

Setting Up Static IP Addresses

CONVENTIONAL TERMINAL FIRMWARE STEPS:

During any manual firmware download on a terminal, when prompted for “DHCP – Yes or No” you will enter the value that equals “No.”  At this point, you will receive three prompts for “Local IP Address”, “Default Gateway” and “Subnet Mask.”

Each octet for each address/gateway/mask must have three numeric values.  Therefore, a nominal Local IP of 192.168.10.1 would be entered in the firmware package as 192.168.010.001.  The same thing applies for a Default Gateway and/or a Subnet Mask, where the common value of 255.255.255.0 would need to be entered as 255.255.255.000.

Finish your firmware download by entering the appropriate TID.  With Static values, the terminal may need to be built on site w/ the merchant in order for the values to be valid in use.

You can find the current TIDs for Conventional Terminals in the Confluence Nextgen/Protims TID.

To set Static IP at terminal level, Menu - Communication - LAN Parameters - LAN Type - Static. Then go to r “Local IP Address”, “Default Gateway”, "DNS IP", and “Subnet Mask” and enter each value. As stated above, each octet must be three digits.  You cannot truncate leading zeros in the address.  EX: 010.010.001.001

ANDROID STEPS:

On Terminal Settings, enter the password of the terminal and then select your means of communications (in this case, Ethernet). (NOTE: WiFi can also be set to a Static address.)

From the Ethernet sub-section, make sure that Ethernet is switched to the “On” selection (the button at top right of the screen will turn green)

At the bottom of the Ethernet sub-section, make your selection of “Static.”

Unlike DHCP, where the Local IP, Default Gateway, Subnet Mask and DNS IP auto populate, you will need to manually enter the IP information for each Static parameter as follows:

IP Address:

Netmask:

Gateway:

Primary DNS:

Second DNS:

S-SERIES STEPS

Power on the S-Series terminal

Goto the Main Menu

Select “Communications”

Select “Main Communications”

Select “LAN”

Select “LAN Parameters”

Select “LAN Type”

Select “Static”

Select “IP Address” and enter the Local IP (the firmware download might auto-populate this)

Select “Subnet Mask” and enter the value (the firmware download might auto-populate this)

Select “Gateway IP” and enter the Default Gateway (the firmware download should auto-populate this)

Select “DNS IP” and enter the values (once again, it may auto populate)
