No Paper Mode

NPM Error Message

If a customer sees the message "NPM" on the screen of the terminal, it means the terminal is in "No Paper Mode."

  1. As long as the terminal has the NPM mode set to Auto, adding more paper will remove the message and the terminal will begin to process
  1. If there is no paper available the terminal can be set to process by setting "NPM" to "ON" at the terminal level:
  1. Menu > Operation Settings > No Paper Mode > select "ON
  2. The default setting for NPM is "Auto".  When the terminal is set to Auto, it will display "NPM" and will not run transactions when there is no paper.  It will automatically shut off the NPM message and return to processing when paper is added.

NOTE:
The message may continue to display and not go away if the sensor is bad.  You can try putting a finger over the sensor to see if this shuts off the message.  You can see where the sensor is located in the image below.
