Warning App Exception

This error is common when the Firmware is not up to date. A random message displaying "Warning! App Exception" will display on the screen of the PAX S80. Below are the steps on how to update the firmware.

 Always make sure there are no batches in the terminal before doing any updates or changes. It is also important that before we proceed on doing a firmware update, a representative from the merchant services is present within the call as it usually requires a push app to be created for the terminal.

 

1. Power off the terminal

2. Hold the power(round button) and menu key at the same time until you hear a single long beep.

3. Select Remote Download

4. Select New Download

5. Select TCP

6. Select Remote

7. Type in 216.238.144.195 The "." is created by pressing "1" and then the "alpha" key

8. Port is 8582

9. Select "Yes"

10. Terminal ID is 80808098

11. Once it says "download done" press the cancel key

12. You will see the terminal updating and doing additional downloads. When complete it will come back to the input amount
 screen
